Would you like a tag added to [community profile] multiversalcooking101? Please let us know here!

Some examples of tags:

! toc: (dstrings) sora & avitus
book: (dstrings) sora & avitus

writer: aqua (kh au)
writer: avitus (lok au | fanchar)
writer: sora (.hack au)

Tags are 40 characters or less. Writer tags are to identify which character is posting the recipes (and which canon they're from, because some characters have similar/identical names). ToC tags are for an index of a character's recipes, if you/they want to organize them further. If your character would have multiple cookbooks/collections of recipes or something, that's what the Book tag is for. You get the idea. :) And don't worry if the character's not in Destiny Strings or any other game. It's all about IC recipes in general!

If we need some other way to sort stuff later, we'll figure it out then.
All right, some guidelines on adding recipes to the Multiverse Cooking comm: please read these before posting!

1 (this is the big one!) These need to be RL-followable!

This means, if you're doing, say, a chocobo omelet recipe? Don't tell us to use one chocobo egg. Tell us to use three regular chicken eggs. If the recipe calls for Tauros steak, note that we're using beef. You can make jokes about it in the recipe and writeup all you want, but we want to be able to follow these recipes without too much trouble! Basically, if your character were to try making these foods using nothing but what they found in an RL grocery store, what would they have to use instead? Give us that list of ingredients, please! That's what this comm is all about, is being able to actually make these foods!

...and actually consume them. Please no posting of things that'd get us sick; motor oil is not a valid food, no matter what your robot character may think. (Should we have a tag for joke entries like that? Also, if the recipe's result is intentionally unappetizing or something, please make note of that in an OOC at the bottom or something, k?)

2 Everything under cuts, especially pictures. Please, be kind to others' browsers. :)

3 Please no big huge animated gifs. We love them, honest! But some of us use older, slower comps still, or would like to load these pages up on an iPhone (or PSP, or whatever else we're using!) so we can have it in the kitchen with us while we DO the recipes, without having to print it out or write it out by hand. We don't all have laptops we can do that with!

On that note, a picture of the recipe is encouraged! In fact, if you want to do more than one, to illustrate different steps in the process of making your recipe, that's cool. Let's not have the pics be huge, though. Keep it down to something like 300x400px, or even a couple 500x600 ones if it's important, and everyone's mobile browsers will hopefully still be plenty happy.

Also, bonus: as this is all IC, if you want to sneak in some cosplay, and have a hand with someone's rather distinctive sleeve in view, setting the plate of food down in front of the camera? That's totally awesome! It isn't needed, but thumbs up anyhow, because this is supposed to be fun.

4 That's right, it's all IC! If you can, try writing the recipes the way your characters would! Use their voice, typing style, whatever it is they'd do. It's like [community profile] dear_mun except for recipes! Just uh...

5 ...Please leave the formatting relatively plain. (Yes, you too, Homestuck chars!) If you want to do a chunk of text, the <blockquote> tag is meant exactly for that! For typewriter/monospace, let's all try to use the <tt> tag. It makes it a lot easier for the layout-mod to make everything all pretty, when everything's coded uniformly. :)

Speaking of coding, I'll have some convenient copypasta for you all, for adding images and stuff, just as soon as I get it figured out about how it'd be easiest to do it.

6 Please tag your recipes appropriately! If you need a mod to create a tag for you to put on your entry, just leave a note here for them.

7 Headcanon is fine. Stuff they figured out in a game/setting other than their canon is fine too!

That's it for now! Get to posting, and have fun!
